Peace! With its blessed companion Forgiveness!

I fell to my knees in awe

Tears pouring, I turned my heart to the One who whispers hope

My heart is now clean and fresh

The song on my lips is dancing

I’m forgiven!

Oh the thought moves me to tears

I’m worthy to enter the Kingdom

Weak and defiled though I walked

I love the Man

Who gazes at me now

His eyes speaking love and forgiveness

Into my torn and bleeding heart.

For me — to ransom me — to rescue ME!

He bore the wrath of God

And even now gathers me into His arms

Forever I’ll kiss His feet and serve His kindred

In the best, most sacrificing way I can –

Lovingly, and with a song.

“I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. Then I called on the name of the LORD: ‘O LORD, I pray, deliver my soul!’

“Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; our God is merciful. The LORD preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me. Return, O my soul,  to your rest; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.”

Psalm 116:1-7 ESV
